 Hm. It's been a while since I posted photos, eh? Another burn in warmer weather with some fantastic results (at least to mine own eyes). yes, I've weeded thru these to get rid of the blurry, off-center or otherwise uninteresting shots. despite that, there are 140 shots here. i haven't been twitching my camera so much to create so-called "art shots" -- even though i like that sort of thing -- but i've still got a significant number of shots that i consider "artistic". thanks go to those who provided the movement and grace and delicious, delicious fire for the feeding of my digital camera and wondering imagination. there are shots here of dragons on leashes, and people gasping in ecstasy while being swallowed by flame, and flesh melting into flesh melting into liquid light. thanks go to basil, mike, chad, sarahbeth, aries, and of course amanda for your fine spinning (and others whose names i regretfully don't know or don't remember). If you want a higher res shot of something specific, let me know and I will be glad to send it your way. 12.12.05 had a fantastic but very cold time with firespinners at Brandeis T-lot on sunday. i wasn't spinning this time; my "will o'the wisps" had been dismantled to give my lovely girlfriend (photos 71 thru 83) fire heads for her first burn. 123 following photos are the best of what i got. all of these are unedited digital shots. if you want larger copies of any of them, email me. Brandeis Burn 12.11.05 (will open in new window) thanks goes to mike (?) who gave our frosty asses a ride home afterward. 12.11.05 on my way to the burn this past sunday, someone had strung some bright red yarn among the branches of a crabapple grove we had to walk through. i may return, in light of the following photos.   if you're interested in a larger copy of one of these photos (my camera resolution is 4x the resolution of these photos), email me. 12.01.05 time for a new section. i've long been fascinated with the realm of digital photography. well, photography in general. digital just happens to be the way things are going these days, and i for one will not protest against a technology that enables me to process all my photos without the use of a lab and countless toxic chemicals. i do bemoan the lack of an excuse to install a windowless room with red lighting and an airlock in my pantry, but i don't really have the room for that anyway. |
